God’s word teaches that:

A. All have sinned and deserve to die and go to Hell.

B. Christ Jesus is God who for a short time left his place in Heaven and became born of a woman, lived a sinless life and died and shed His blood for us so that our trust in Him saves us.

C. Christ Jesus paid for all our sins by dying, shedding His blood, and then rising from the grave and going back to Heaven.

D. Unless we believe and accept this by faith on a personal basis, God does not save us.

E. Belief is trusting that Christ died in our place and trusting in Him as our Savior.

JOHN 1:12 “..as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to those that believe on His name."

JOHN 10:28 "...I have given them eternal life; and they shall never perish..."

JOHN 3:16 "...For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Remember that believing is more than a simple "head" knowledge. You must be willing to place your complete trust in Christ. If you are about to sit down on a chair but then don’t because you think it might collapse, that is a lack of trust. Likewise, if you do not think that Christ can really save you, then you are not believing or trusting in Him. The result then, is eternal torment in the lake of fire where you pay for your own sins.

Why not trust in Christ who already paid your sin debt?

If you have an earnest desire to trust in Jesus the Christ in these matters, then the Spirit of God has urged you to do so. Here is a summary of what you are trusting or believing in:

"I agree with God (repent) that I have done wrong (sinned) and believe that Christ came down from Heaven to be born of a virgin, lived a perfect (sinless) life, the only worthy One that died for my sins and the sins of all mankind, raised from the dead, and reigns forever.

Therefore, I trust in Him to save me from the punishment of Hell (since He took my punishment for me) because of my sin. I believe this is the only way I can be saved and nothing else is required of me since God does all the work.”

Once a person believe in Christ, he or she is saved forever and the Spirit of God helps the believer to grow spiritually.

I understand that it is important to read and study my Bible, pray regularly and to meet with others with the same beliefs. I will also follow God's command to share the teachings of the Bible with others. I will also follow Christ example of Baptism to show others as a testimony of my conversion understanding that baptism has nothing to do with my salvation."
